Reduced GHG Emissions Report: Recycling

A series of ‘Recycling Day’ campaigns organized by Zero Waste Earth Store (ZWES) took place from January to May 2023 in Klang Valley, Malaysia. 13’850 kg of recyclable materials were collected, including paper, mixed plastics, e-waste, metals, glass, fabrics, used cooking oil, and others. Avoided greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were quantified by Sustainable Scenario, and Reduced GHG Emissions Report was published to establish the awareness of the connection between waste and climate change.

Zero Waste Earth Store is a social enterprise founded in 2019 by Dr. Janira Kumari and Jaclynnd Wong Yin Thing, who share a common vision of promoting zero waste practices.

ZWES actively engages with the local community through various initiatives, such as Recycle Days, training on bokashi composting, effective disinfection methods, and creating homemade cleaning agents. By fostering awareness and knowledge sharing, it aim to inspire more individuals to embrace sustainable living practices and make zero waste a viable and affordable option for all.

At Sustainable Scenario, we are proud to have established strong partnership relationships with Zero Waste Earth Store (ZWES) that have played a vital role in achieving our common mission of promoting sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Through collaborative efforts, Sustainable Scenario has provided a range of impactful services to ZWES and its partners, including quantification of avoided through recycling campaigns greenhouse gas emissions.
